unrealistic

i know that must sound stupid
coming from a movie about sandfairies
but...
they wouldn't let the mom go to "look after the wounded" as robert says
because of the lamb, cuz hes so young
so ya, that part was unrealistic, and i think they shoulda stuck with the book
cuz the 'rents were with them in the book
and the speical effects sucked ass, altho what can u expect from a bunch of brits anyway

They would let the mother go because nurses were in short supply, and as for your dig at British special effects I would suggest you do some research into your favourite movies. From the Alien movies to the Indy movies to the Star Wars movies, Hollywood has been coming over here for decades - in spite of Britain's insanely high filming levys - just to borrow soundstages and sets designed specifically for effect.

Actually, during WW1 a married woman would be expected to stay at home. If she was middle class, more so and if she had young children definately so. If you did a professional job or were in service before WWII you would have to give up your job on marriage. A woman's place (if not working class) was in the home.

One thing I can't stand is intolerance.
