Nude Scene???

i have to give Davis credit for a stellar performance and an A+ screenplay but why was the nude scene so strangely??? Davis gives the viewer an entire rear view nude shot but when he turns around he dangles a towel in front of him so we don't see his private parts. what does Davis have a dick the size of a peanut? if he wasn't willing to show everything he shouldn't have shot the scene in the nude. pure and simple.

I guess he wanted you to use your imagination. I would also imagine this movie was mostly viewed by men who wouldnt want to see it anyway.

reply

Oh come on. This is clearly a gay movie. It's about an unbelievably hot boxer rising to the top. I just saw this on cable, so I didn't even get to see the butt, but I was imagining it and his dick through the whole thing. He was yummy. And don't even straight men look down in the shower?

I have no taste, but that just means there's less of a chance that I'll get eaten

reply

I doubt he would want Marty to see his penis.

reply

If you want to see that sort of thing, you might want to watch a different type of movie instead.

i thank you for your perspective on the matter. it seems utterly bizarre that
frontal female nudity is fine and dandy but frontal male nudity has everyone
running of the hills. also it is quite easy to get frontal male nudity in an
R rated film its just that very few actors are willing to do it. i would even go as far as to say a *VERY QUICK* glimpse of frontal male nudity could be
included in a PG-13 film if it was of a none sexual nature. e.g .2 guys jumping
into a lake or a high school locker room scene. one additional note about my
comment on R rated films. in the late '70s and most of the '80s it was not at
all uncommon to see frontal male nudity in major studio films. one example
SOME GIRLS starring a very young Patrick Dempsey and Jennifer Connolly. Dempsey
has gone to his girlfiend's house to spend the holidays with her family. about
halfway thru the film PD and JC are arguing in his bedroom that he's hitting
on her other sisters. she's so mad that as she exits his bedroom she pushes him
onto his bed. the camera pulls back to reveal that PD is stark naked. he looks
down at his cleary visible genitals and says-"you believe that? i certainly don't". the film very easily got an R rating. times have changed haven't they?

Full-frontal male nudity is negotiated for in a contract, and it usually isn't necessary. This is a low-budget indie. If the actor were going to go full-frontal he might prefer to do it in a more high-profile film.

reply

The actor in question wrote the movie and definitely should have gone full frontal. It would have boosted sales thru the roof and make him a hot commodity.
