italian films

i love them, do you?

reply

Yes, so do I.
For example I liked Caterina va in città very much.
And I shall soon watch Ovosodo, from the same Paolo Virzì.

Very wide categorie, Italian films. But if you mean arthouse-productions, and not seventies porn, I agree. "O hora o mai piu" is great, and also "I'm not afraid". But I prefer the Spanish ones... yesterday I saw "Los lunes al sol". That's terrific cinema!

No sir no. Italian comedies are no "arthouse productions" nor are they meant to be. They are movies, not films. By definition a comedy is popular entertainment made for the largest audiences - never mind how thin is the audience once exported in the USA - and I have a feel this Virzi fellow could be the Risi or Monicelli of the new century. Or let'say I hope so, anyway.
