Sadness....

I was watching Pingu last night and it's so sad!!

It deals with such perfect issues...

I'm 16 and I was cryin my eyes out at 'Pingu is Jealous'... so sad!

And when he delivers that letter to that old guy (presumably saying someone has died), for a childrens show that is amazingly powerful.

'Pingu is Jealous' is so sad it's almost abusive. To me, it makes a mistake in implying Pingu's mum's behaviour is normal - she's being incredibly cruel ignoring Pingu all that time, although admittedly it may be more his perception of what is going on than the reality.
Mostly I absolutely love Pingu.

I felt so bad for older siblings everywhere (well, I am one haha). Pingu's mom totally neglected him when they had Pinga. He was crying! :'(

I remember watching that episode, and my dad walked in and observed "His parents aren't very nice."

I used to always get the "lump in my throat" effect at the very last shot of Pingu runs away.

As a child I found the snow-statues/ice-statues very creepy, and also imitated what Pingu did in the episode to get my parents to be nicer to me. I deliberately hurt my sister by hitting her with a triceratops (horns first, naturally) and got told off. So I ran away, my mom got worried and chased after me.

It had been my plan to get caught all along, but would have made it further had some stupid neighbour guy not stopped me and asked what's going on "I have run away" I said "WAT ?!" he said "I have run away". Stupid @ss-hole probably would have asked me to say it a third time, but me ma caught up with me and thanked him. To this day, I HATE repeating myself, and the whole "twice" thing that was introduced in 2006 didn't help matters either, despite having seemingly died away.
