whoopee!!

YAY Im the first person to post on this board whoopee!! I tend to take great delight in being the first poster on a board ever (I was the first poster on the World Idol board if anyone cares lol).

ANYWAY I just wanted to say I can't wait for this series mainly because it has Oliver Ackland in it and I love him, I loved him in Pirate Islands and I know I'll love him in this!!!!

Shaggy: Yeah, but, does the ghost know that??

reply

As am I...

I haven't read the book or any other Bryce Courtenay novel, but I think that it's going to be a brilliant Australian made drama. I'm not a big fan of Australian drama, but I've got a feeling that "Jessica" is going to impress me.

reply

yeah I feel the same. Did you watch "The Shark Net" last year?? that was pretty good.

Shaggy: Yeah, but, does the ghost know that??

reply

Just finished watching the first part - it was a powerful performance by Leeanna Walsman, and I'm sure the second part will contain even more

I loved it... brilliant story, gut wrenching scenes and such raw emotion

Can't wait for the conclusion

reply

Yes, me too....just finished watching the first part, engrossing film indeed. Strange I can't recall Leeanna Walsman before, I must look and see what she's been involved in prior to starring in "Jessica".

Leeanna Walsman is fairly well-known, especially for her roles in Looking for Alibrandi and The Shark Net

My favourite role of hers however would be that of co-lead Alysse in One Perfect Day, it came out in Feburary this year and didn't do too well at the box office but it is an amazing film and Leeanna delivers a truly awe-inspiring performence

reply

Hehe, yes now I remember her from Looking For Ali brandi (how could I forget)... The other couple of films you mention I haven't had the pleasure of watching yet. By her performance in "Jessica" I'm sure we are going to see Leeanna a lot more in the future.

She was good. I just watched Jessica then and it was really good. I though Sam Neill was excellent and I thought that Oliver Ackland created a really complex character (not to mention a very good looking one).

reply

likewise I am so glad that Sam Neill is in this - one of my favourite actors. It's funny, coz I was mostly looking forward to this because of Oliver Ackland, and yes I do love him in it but there are so many other reasons to love this miniseries.

Hey,
Like a lot of you, I watched this film only because Oliver Ackland was in it (mmm), been waiting for its release since before they started filming it. Anyhoo, Ive just watched its conclusion and wow what a great movie. It had such an awsome story to it with heaps of actors with raw talent. I wonder if there will be an official release of the movie on dvd. I copied it on dvd but id love to know if there will be an official release of it? If anyone knows id love to know, please email me at [email protected] or if you have any info on Oliver id love to hear from you.

Hope To Hear From You Guys Soon.
Shannon :)

i watched the second part last night and although it was good, leeanah walsman was a bit of a let down to me. She didn't seem to have the strength and stubborness the charecter in the book had. but im certain we'll see more of her in the future. as for Oliver Ackland, he wasn't as charismatic as i'd expected. but Sam Neill played Runche brilliantly. It wasn't a bad film, but i think it couldve been adapted better.
