Man, I´m so furious.. How can they seperate Alex and Patrick!!! They were soulmates.... They belong together.... Man, I´m angry.. I hope that they will do a reunion!

yeah well if the show had continued they definately should have put cheri and stevie togther at least for a little while.
shareYou can blame ABC for the ending. It was obviously the setup for another season (which it seemed likely to get), but they canceled it for no good reason, and gave us the underwhelming "Rodney" (which they inexplicably kept for 2 seasons!).
As for Stevie and Cheri, it was hinted at that they were going to get them together in several episodes. In "The Weekend Away," Stevie consoles Cheri when she's alone and depressed, but she hits the alarm when Stevie tries to make a move. And then in "Drama Queen," Stevie makes a reference about his crush on Cheri to a student. If the show had gotten another season, they certainly would've paired them... Alas, the programmers at ABC are a-holes.
