I've watched a couple of movies that take "street" issues/athletics/etc and try to bring them to the screen, and frankly, in terms of the performances this is the only movie that not only did not dissapoint but actually went way beyond, well, at least my, expectations. I’m a computer programmer, early 20’s, not an MTV junkie; but, if anything, I’ve got to admire at least the discipline that these kids put into their programs. I’ve lived in NYC for 10+ years and I’ve seen first-hand how important such issues can be the average teen. However, as far as this movie, that’s where the buck stops! Let’s just think this through…so in the end there were [out of everybody] like 10 guys who’ve won, WOW, A WHOLE $50,000!! (or an entire $5000 a piece, wow)! – equivalent – even at McDonalds for minimum wage one could make that in, let’s say, about 6 months…with a little education and HALF OF THAT DETERMINATION, most any of them could easily wind up having careers that will eventually pay them 50,000/year and more [and there aren’t any losers in that]. I’m too tired right now and am not going to spend anymore time trying to make this argument, but what’s wrong with this movie is what “Save the last dance” DOES have – life is a lot $#%#$ than bouncing up and down ten hours a day…there will be kids, bills, messed up circumstances, and responsibilities. This movie could have brought that out without making it seem utterly childish. Also just as a personal note, one thing I really didn’t like, and it kind of shows the whole “ape”…”yeah, I’m better than you and am gonna bash that in as long as I can” mentality is that not even at the end can these competitors at least acknowledge, or get along with the other guy (like in “Drumline” – well, that was a pretty good movie in terms of performances). Yeah “You got served!” but at least once, get down to earth people and show some decent behavior.
Just to close, for all of you that dissed “Shindler’s List”, man, I just hope you haven’t watched the movie. Because if you have, (yeah it can seem more boring) but to diss the deaths of 6 million people over this clownshow, shows only how egoistical, narrow-minded, and absolutely ignoarant you are, not only of history, but the sufferings of so many other cultures and civilizations which we as Americans cannot even comprehend.

You must be a *beep* or a loser if you like this film. You want to see a powerful film with black actors and street life. Then for f u c k sake watch "City of God". You Got Servered is a pointless movie for stupid b i t chs to masterbate too. Yeah, that's why this movie was made, so that chicks could finally masterbate to a PG-13 film.
