A cinematic landmark.

No words can describe just how beautiful and touching this film is.

Every now and then you see a film that just mezmerizes you, Footloose, Teen Wolf Too, Fat Slags, Mr. Nanny, Personal Vandetta, Being Eric Bristow, but this has got to be the most captivating movie experience i've ever had.

My God. J-Boog's performance? CLASSIC! These are the kind of movies I want my children to grow up knowing.

If American Beauty, The Godfather and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly was rolled up in a spliff and burned with the flames used to kill Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight, You Got Served would be the euphoric experience that people get.

The greatest movie of all time.

In all honesty though, this is one of the funniest threads I've read on IMDB in a long time

There are many films that cannot be understood with the first viewing. This film is one of those films. It's like an onion, layer upon layer, filled with emotional depth that would make Paul Thomas Anderson weep. A work of art, a celluloid masterpiece.

If only Schindler's List touched on the deeply human themes of this film...

It is a 95 minute long emotional roller coaster ride that will have you clinging to your seat until the ride is over, then you are left like a heroin addict on the side of the street begging for a discount on smack because you only have seven dollars. Words alone cannot describe the cinematic genius that is this film.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with you guys. Aside from all the amazing things mentioned, some of the quotes will live long in the memory of movie-goers around the world. My favourite being 'Your boy is trippin'.' Next to Stand By Me this is probably one of the most deeply thought and emotional movies i have ever seen.

reply

Wow ... too bad they don't make these kinds of movies anymore. I just can't believe how much class all the actors had, the wonderfully crafted dialogue, or how artful everything was ... this is a movie that will make everything else you ever see seem prosaic and meaningless in comparison.

Sarcasm becomes SOOOOO much FUNNIIEERR when it's exaggerated!!!!!!

[Not a slight on sarcasm. It can be funny when delivered with a serious facade (but not to the point where you can't tell if it's sarcasm or not; there's a line where a joke crosses from being comedic to just being a regular bit of unfunny *beep* Reading your witty remark, I could practically hear an 8 year old girl with her tongue pressed against her inside bottom lip, saying through her nose "WOW!!! The single greatest motion picture EVER...." Needless to say, it was some REALLY FUNNY *beep*

Citizen who? Schindler's what? Once upon a time in when? Casawhere? There is one film which leaves all these other quote unquote landmarks in the dust, what film do I speak of you might ask. Three words, YOU GOT SERVED.

I felt ashamed I had not seen this earlier. I rented The Usual Suspects, Being John Malcovich, You Got Served and Full Metal Jacket all at once because they were the last four films on the American Film Institutes "100 Years, 100 Films" that I still hadn't seen

reply

not to side track, but our local cable station list in the newspaper the top ten On Demand movies for the past week.
Last week, You Got Served was number 4!!! The Honeymooners was #8!!
Are We Done Yet? was number 7!!

Of all the hundreds of movies you can choose from, these are the pieces of dreck that folks pay to see.

I weep for the future

It is sad but true, seems the people in the U.S. are proving that 'survival of the fitest' is no more. The future is grim my friend, movies like this along with most of the mass media show us that it is cool to be stupid.

How this didn't win an Oscar is beyond me. I bought 5 copies of this on DVD...just in case one of them messes up.

reply

You Got Served is like cinematic sex...and you dont even have to pay for it......

That was so funny i forgot to laugh....due to short term memory loss.

When Marquis Houston is coming at Omarion, so O tells it like it is, "Man, we're up in here tryna help YOU and you come and pull THIS?!" The emotion and delivery moved me to tears. Omarion should have receieved an Oscar for his role, but that won't happen since the film Academy is racist towards African-American masterpieces such as this.

All I wanna do is and then take your money.

My reaction on this topic is maybe a little late,
But I totally agree with you!!
I even cried when Rico heard that Lil'Saint died.. My god, my tears where dropping down..

But that was the only touchy moment in the entire film! It's not that great film, but it's entertaining.. And i'm happy that i watched it! =)

Well, my mom says I'm special on the inside.
