One of the worst movies that I watch a lot .

I do not know where the concept came from that a movie has to be good in order for you to like it. I like plenty of movies that re not good. I also do not know where the concept of not liking a movie because of the quality of the acting cam from. Bad acting does not make or break a movie. There is no acting in an animated film. There is very little acting in an action film. I like this movie as much for the dancing as I do making fun of it. Forget the acting and the dancing for a min. The movies writing makes no sense. People do not act like this. When your heroes are lying drug dealers ,your movie is doomed from the start. Hell the money in this movie is a joke. Given the amount of members of their crew , the amount of time they dedicate to winning makes no sense. Its not enough money to make it worth your time. The movie also has a huge plot hole in it. The guy that sells them out.... he lives in their neighborhood. There is no way that he would be stupid enough to assume there would be no consequences to his actions. (except in this movie) Whats more how much money did the other crew offer him for his services?? It would have been less than he was being offered by his original crew otherwise it would not have been worth it to wades crew to use him. Never mind the idea that he does not live by them and thus could not become a full time member. This means that he would also be losing any money that he was making by being part of a crew forever.

Next , the main plot point of the movie is that the star owes money to a drug dealer or he is going to cripple or kill him. But that was handled at the last min off screen . I guess your not supposed to think about the fact that he now has no job. Owe I forgot he has a share of 50,000 dollars. Big deal . The amount of people that joined in at the last min would have greatly reduced the split. Making winning the 50,000 grand not worth it. Being in a music video is a one and done thing. Very few people make that a career .

Speaking of more people. was I the only one that noticed that the same two girls with wild perms seemed to be in almost every crew??? lol If they did not want us to know that they should have changed their hairstyles or something.

I'm white. I'm not a professional dancer, but I do review movies for a living, and this film? When I was finished watching it I not only wanted my money back, but also every second of my life spent watching it. Yet another poorly written, stereotypical, insult to the moviegoer's intellegence.

The dancing was fun to watch, but the story surrounding was so awash with bad acting, obvious stereotypes and cliches that I found myself snickering or outright groaning whenever the characters weren't dancing. And what was the message? The final lesson learned? yes, that's friendship is important, but also that if you're black and poor, your only options are to deal drugs or dance for a living.

Have to agree

I am not denying the dancing talent or choreography in this movie. I was street dancer, so naturally I was interested in seeing it. I am much older than the age range this movei was targeted to so I have seen my fair share of "dance related" movies

Beat Street
Saturday Night Fever
Staying Alive
Footloose
Fast Forward
Electric Boogaloo
Flashdance
Save the Last Dance
Lambada
The Forbidden Dance
Salsa
Honey

I could go on for days...soem were good and some were bad....one thing that the majority of them had however was a decent STORY. It wasn't just about dancing, it was what motivated them to dance..etc...if I wanted to just watch dancing..I can go to the club.. the reason American Idol is so popular is not because there are great singers..it is because people identify with the contestants..You Got Served is a brainless movie about dance, bad acting, corny dialogue, no emotional content..just dancing..admit it..if you took the dancing out it would bore you to death..

This is true too.
