Was anyone else hoping that the guy at the convenience store would beat the hell out of Pete?
He attacked him for no apparent reason (or did I miss something?), the guy looked like he didn't even know him.
He strikes me as the kind of kid who would actually benefit from a good thumping.

I agree...the movie was well written...and the performances were great...but there are alot of drama points left dangling..........dad puts their beds outside...no follow up...the interplay with the teacher.no follow up....the new lady in dads life and the kids treating her *beep* girl friend that stops showing up stops all contact and then just pulls up on her bike and waves to him.....a ass whomping would have been nice...

Yeah, I actually loved the movie even more because the Pete character reminded me so much of a guy I knew growing up when I was in middle/high school that lived in my neighborhood. He was best friends with my older brother and was always doing stupid crap for no reason. Fights, vandalizing stuff, random cursing *at people* for no reason whatsoever. Worse thing was he basically lived at my house every summer up until I was 16 and was almost like a part of our family. Everyone else (outside of our family including my Mom) pretty much thought he was nuts, but my brother (who was actually alot like Brendan Sexton's) was the only one who stuck with him until they graduated. Haven't heard from him or of him since.

Can you please explain to me what scene was all about? I really like this movie, but that is the one complaint I have about it. Maybe there was something I missed, or it was just to illustrate how self-destructive and angry Pete was.

Am I the only one that thought the guy who played Pete and BSIII might be related? I came on IMDB just to see if they were. I thought they looked so similar!
Pay attention! Pete jumped the guy at the store because of some issue with a girl.
