I gave it a 10!

I adore Kate and yet my giving the film a 10 had (surprisingly) nothing to do with it. It was a pretty good movie, and I will probably never understand why its rating is a crummy 5.3.
Bad movie? AS IF you haven't seen one of the many IMDB bottom 100 movies. Grow up retards, not all films have mind-blowing plots, unexpected twists, well developed characters and, well, nudity. Do yourselves a favor and do not expect too much next time you decide to watch a film based on a snowstorm in an isolated land mass.

And for the record, the disrobing scene was necessary. 'Nuff said.

Its's alive! It's alive!

Huh? So let me get this straight: you think that a "pretty good movie" without "mind-blowing plots, unexpected twists, well developed characters" is actually deserving a 10?

Yeah, you make sense.

It's at a 5.3 because of the impossible-to-ignore failure to suspend disbelief... mainly due to this being set in a -50 degree environment. How can the temperature freeze hot coffee in mere seconds, but prolonged exposure to bare skin does absolutely nothing?

I try to give filmmakers some benefit of doubt, but Sena is a guy who should know better.

There is nothing "10" about this movie any which way you look at it. I gave it a 6, because I was able to ignore the garbage parts of the movie long enough to make it through the whole thing... but to suggest that this is your idea of a perfect movie is laughable.

reply

I gave it a 7 because it kept me entertained.

Until the anticlimactic ending, I really liked it.

I gave this movie a 3.. I felt like I was watching a movie made for TV, so yeah enough said.

Rosethenia, you're entitled to your opinion that you enjoyed this film. Everyone has some movie out there that lets be honest isn't that great but they love and will give a favorable 10/10 just because of that simple fact that they love the film so much. The truth is that the best thing, well actually the only thing, this film has going for it is Kate Beckinsale. Kate is just as gorgeous as she always is and she does her best with the sub-par material of this film. the plot is predictable, the characters as a whole are not very interesting (minus Beckinsale's character), and there are the little details and just quirks about the film itself with take away from it which have been pointed out by others (ex. temp is cold enough to freeze liquid instantly but not cold enough to have to cover ones face completely). Over all this film is not great, it is average at best personally I think its right around a 6 out of 10 but don't let anyt one take any thing away from a film you seem to love just like no one will ever convince me that Hackers is a horrible movie :-)

I highly enjoyed this movie and gave it a 9. not a 10 because of the ending struggle with the aussie reminded me a bit too much of the film histories most incompetent yet successful serial killer from the Scream movies.

I love movies set in an isolated environment. I like the whole movie otherwise.

I also enjoyed this movie mainly for the same reason: Kate, ah, and Tom Skerritt, and gave it a high grade.

I gave it a 10 (to jack it up a bit. SUE ME.) because I thought it was UNFAIR for people to rate it so low (3's and 2's) simply because, it was nothing like they expected? Or, because the trailer was misleading? That's a bit unfair. The movie was not that bad! Keep an open mind. Srsly.
