:) . . .i luv it - yea canada. . . :)

I love this movie. It has moving music, amazing scenery - although since most of the acting was trying to portray internal emotions, it did get slow at times, but I still enjoyed it. I like that this movie wasn't afraid to be quiet when it needed to be. I especially love the shots of Asbrey that showed him from a distance, kind of dwarfed in nature's glory. It was beautiful. And I really appreciate that there was blood actually on the swords after somebody was run through; in so many films it seems that they just can't be bothered, and it's so distracting when you notice.
Also, they said that Blake Stadel (Asbrey of Westender) is Canadian, so yea Canada! My brother is taking film at Carlton in Ontario, and I know he'd like this. I can't wait to tell him to go rent it.

This is indeed a fine little film, most notable is the cinematography and the music by Rob Simonsen. I have just aquired the soundtrack and the music is fantastic even by itself and well worth seeking out.

They have the soundtrack for sale? Where can I buy it?

reply

Go to the official site -westendermovie.com- and you will find it for sale through them. Absolutely brilliant music score by the way, 74 minutes of orchestral bliss from Rob Simonsen, as you heard it in the movie. The piece when Asbrey is led by the wolf to the frozen knight is magnificent music. Buy it now, you will not be disappointed!!

i also bought it but i was disappointed that the piece from the trailer wasnt on the soundtrack. oh well, still a great addition to my CD collection.

This movie is one of the biggest indie debacles out there. It is simply horrendous on all counts. And the effusive comments about the soundtrack and that oh so subtle plug for the website is quite transparent in terms of authorship. How this found a distributor is beyond me.

So, cousinchang, you didn't like Westender then did you? Fair enough.

My "effusive" comments about the score are justified. It is a quite accomplished piece of work for any film , not just an indie one.

The "oh so subtle " plug for the website comment is one of the more idiotic statements I have read on the site. Anyone can find the website listed on the left hand panel of this films page, under 'official site'

And any comment about 'terms of authorship' leaves you wide open for litigation my friend.

But of course this idiot hasn't been back to imdb since his first and only post so..........naff off troll.

Yeah, well...I really liked it. And no, I have nothing to do with the movie's producers, distributors or anyone else involved in the "making of". I just don't mind watching a movie where you actually have to think.
If you are looking for epic battles - you can always watch "Lord of the Rings" (a great movie, don't get me wrong, I'm just using it as an example). The Westender is primarily a drama, not an action adventure, and people who expected a big fantasy action movie were justifiably disappointed.

The single worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life...and I have seen Hell Comes to Frogtown and Camp Daze...
