If this Astro kid pops up in another movie I am watching

I'm going to switch it off immediately. I took my daughter to see "Earth To Echo" last summer and this kid ruined any (slim) possibility that movie had of being good with his over-the-top "urban" persona. And now, again, I feel like someone is forcing this kid into another movie I'm trying to enjoy. His role is clichéd, and although he's vital to the story eventually, I can't help but think there are 50 other kids somewhere who could be a bit more subtle and not so annoying. This is just as much a writing and casting problem as it is about this kid's acting. But also, I've seen better actin in tough-actin Tinactin.

How was he annoying? Also his acting was spot on in this movie so i don't know what you are talking about. There wasn't any acting in this movie that felt wrong at all and that is why I'd have no problems recommending it to others.

reply

I didn't mind his acting. I thought he did fine.

However, I had no idea he was some 'famous' American celebrity. Probably because I don't live in the States, I had never heard of him before.

reply

That's the thing about the "urban" persona, in reality it is presented as over the top.

reply

I would say that Brian Bradley was actually decent in the Red Band Society show.

"I had no idea he was some 'famous' American celebrity. Probably because I don't live in the States,"

I too, had no idea he was some 'famous' American celebrity and I live in the States. Probably because I'm on the wrong side of 50 years old.

Couldn't agree more, completely annoying. The whole super cool, super street, super smart little black boy, routine is played.

It's generally not a good idea to have kids in films at all, but they don't have to be annoying little s#*ts.

Kids in movies that are ok
Jerry Maguire
Aliens
The shinning

Totally agree. Kid was annoying as hell and without him it would've been a pretty damn good movie. Didn't see the point of his character AT all.

reply

You got that right! He's become the new Bradley Cooper, just look at all the movies he's made in the last couple of years...

Oh, you're not talking about liam Neeson?

reply

Yep OP...I agree...the kid is vital to the story but he isnt a good actor or its cause of the writing, I dont really know but he for sure wasnt good and he ruined the little supsense this movie had. He and Jaden Smith must be the worst kid actors out there today and I cant understand how this kid got into the movies...

Haha,... That's so weird as I just came here to post about this annoying little piece of garbage who seriously ruined this movie. I think another 5 minutes of him near the beginning I would have switched it off. Jesus man what where they thinking casting that!

reply

He was kid on the X Factor. I have seen a lot worse then him, Those Smith siblings come to mind. The comments here seem to be very mean spirited. Get a hold of his agent if you think that is so bad you will walk out of a movie because it looks like he has a good one and see what they have to say.
