Funniest scene/line?

Joan Allen's reaction when she finds Shep (Mike Binder) in bed with her daughter is absolutely hilarious!

Also funny is Shep's argument with Costner when he says the line "This is the problem with being a deviant - everyone sees you as one-dimensional"!

reply

I thought Allen's meeting with Shep at the grocery store was great.

Joan Allen's reaction when her eldest daughter announces she is expecting (yet) another child. "Oh Jesus"...I know how she feels.

That is some funny *beep*

Hadley Wolfmeyer: There's something you all should know.
Lavender "Popeye" Wolfmeyer: You're pregnant and you're getting married.
Hadley Wolfmeyer: How did you know that? Who told you that?
Lavender "Popeye" Wolfmeyer: I guessed? Really? I guessed that? I was right?
Terry Wolfmeyer: No, you've got to be kidding me.
Hadley Wolfmeyer: No, I'm... I'm not. I'm getting married.
Terry Wolfmeyer: This is how I find out? Through Popeye? A 15-year-old?
Lavender "Popeye" Wolfmeyer: Don't be condescending...
Terry Wolfmeyer: Close it! You are a child. What do *you* know?
Andy Wolfmeyer: Oh, that old chestnut.
Terry Wolfmeyer: You close it as well, please. Do his parents know?
Hadley Wolfmeyer: Yes, they're ecstatic.
Terry Wolfmeyer: Oh, how long have they been ecstatic?
Hadley Wolfmeyer: You know what? Can we just go to the lunch, please?
Terry Wolfmeyer: [shouting] How long have they been ecstatic, damn you, Hadley?

reply

"..and your face is plump and..."
"My face is plump?"
"Oh, no. Not that plump"(something like that)
Than Hadley standing at the marriage.

reply

When Andy is breaking up with Shep talking about sex.

Shep: You guess? You make a lot of noise for someone who guesses.
Andy: I guess I have just gotten good at faking it.

and those three guys in the studio are cracking up, its so funny.

WHEN TERRY IMAGINES SHEP'S HEAD EXPLODING AT DINNER AND SMILES WITH BLOOD ALL OVER HER FACE :0) LOLOLOL

"In that moment, I knew success, not greatness, was the only god the world served."

reply

"funniest" ??
Are we talking about the same movie?
This was one self-indulgent metaphor
for how Hollywood has treated Binder.
All this film did for me was reinforce
my loathing for alchoholic mothers who
are self-absorbed in their own delirium.
What a waste of Film!!

reply

haha that head explosion scene was hilarious.

reply

When that head exploded i jumped! I didn't see that coming but the best part was her smirk when she visualizes it. Classic!

reply

Interesting. I saw it listed on imdb as a "comedy" and thought WTF?

This was a great drama. Poignant. Not much comedy. Yes, the Shep character was funny and used self-deprecation and outside of the box thinking as part of his persona, but that wasn't enough to turn this into a comedy imho.

Spock! Form an away team! You, me, Bones, Scotty and umm... Ensign Smith!

reply

Lots of funny lines. Thought her at the graduation luncheon between the Jewish comment and then asking the waiter for a drink ASAP were funny. Probably when she tells him what a misstep it was after they slept together. Lots of cute lines.

How about "Haley's Comet"?

This movie is a comedy and a drama. Loved Shep's head exploding! And the girls serving the roasted chicken after the dog licked it. Too many funny moments to list.
