2-We know Bob's threat/warning to Whitting at the diner place. Since Bob was actually eliminated at the end, does that mean the threat given to Whitting actually becomes a reality? and if it does, who carries out the actions outlined on Bob's threat/warning?

1) The guy you're talking about was his father. It's supposedly explained better in the original script, but the bottom line is that his father can't hold a decent job, and Holiday's determined not to end up like him.

2) I have no idea. It would certainly be poetic justice for Whiting, but I think Bob was bluffing. (Although if he ever found out that Bob was dead, Whiting must have gone white as a ghost).

3) I assume not. They got the contact through Prince Nasir, and that was the reason the CIA killed him - presumably the new ruler, who's pretty much in the American/Saudi pocket, would have canceled it.

4) Hezbollah has influence all over Lebanon, and they already knew who Bob Barnes was from his work in the 1980s. If Bob had just appeared in their country without warning, they would have gotten suspicious and quite possibly put his life in danger. To avoid that kind of misunderstanding, Bob warns them ahead of time and assures them that his mission has nothing to do with them.

1. It wasn't clear at first but it was confirmed that he was indeed Bennett's father when Bennett got the phone call to pick him up from the bar. The bartender had a card that read "If you find me, call my son Bennett Holliday at ..."

reply

1. his unemployed alcoholic father

2. he wasn't eliminated. he was fired. but at least now he will not be blamed for the assassination

3. no, but the chinese can help the americans get the oil to europe through iran (like matt damon suggested)

4. so that hezbollah did not think he was sent to lebanon to kill them. the US considers hezbollah a terrorist organization, and they might suspect bob was sent there to kill one of them

reply

1. it was his father...thats so obvious you dumb *beep*

2. any bob's friend...duh

3.yeah

4. have you ever been to lebanon? or even places like mexico? in some parts you actually have to ask permission to druglords and mobsters to breath...a hole....

reply

1. How is it so obvious?

2. No, apparently, he got it arranged from Whiting himself, although this is not clear from the movie.

3. It's actually NO. Otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to such lengths for the political assassination.

4. No, I haven't been to any of these countries or any such place. Aren't there nice hotels in Mexico where you breathe without taking permission? What would be the point of touring such a place anyway, if you have to breathe with permission?

Regarding 4 (the others are debatable, except for 3, where you are right obviously):

Bob wasn't taking a tourist's vacation, he was conducting an illegal operation in somebody else's turf.
