Which country did they film in to represent Iran?

I was looking through the list of filming locations, and im guessing it was either Egypt or Morocco but im not so sure which one.

I do know that shooting did take place in Dubai as well. George Clooney and Matt Damon were shooting in Dubai for this movie. I don't know if they did shooting in other countries as well.

Oh right i see so i could have been Dubai then, and yes look at the filming locations they filmed in various countries and different locations.

maybe they filmed it in a lot? They only showed Tehran for a few minutes or scenes, and it was urban. They could've filmed it anywhere. They didn't have to go to Dubai for that, which would be different geography. I've been to Tehran, and the northern part of the city reminded me of California.
