reminded me of The Ninth Gate (no, seriously)

I bet some people will just give me abuse about this idea without even reading what I have to say, because it sounds so ridiculous. But, all I mean is, you start each movie liking some characters, and disliking other characters. But, by the end of the movie, some of the characters you liked at first turn out to be the WORST characters, and some of the characters you disliked at first are... not the "best," but the most successful.

Sorry, I can't be more specific than that, because I basically can't say anything about The Ninth Gate without spoiling the movie. If any of you has seen it, you know what I'm talking about.
