It's not that bad..

I read the negative comments here, and then watched the DVD.

I've seen Jaws before.

And I've seen Open Water too.

Red Water isn't really that bad after all. At least it's got a story line and quite a few actions, and the gorgeous KS.

It's a pretty good movie. The best was "Jaws" that was my favorite shark movie. "Deep Blue Sea" was good too. I don't know why people keep saying negative stuff about this movie. It's not THAT bad. It got good action, but the problem is they hardly showed the shark at all. Besides that, it was a good movie.

I like the Movie too. The CGI Shark looks very bad, but the Animatronic Shark looks great. The scene where the shark has LDP in his mouth and "swim" with him looks awesome.

In Jaws the shark is moved with a "crane", but on this movie, is the shark radio controlled?

Sorry to say this dude, but Jaws and Open Water were WAY better than this. I mean, its an okay movie, but its mostly about drugs. The shark should just be an add on.

Ugh this movie stunk. One of those made-for-TV jobs that you watch for 5 minutes, knowing well in advance it'll suck you in and and you'll regret it, but you wind up watching the whole damn thing anyway. Terrible. Terrible acting, terrible shark, terrible all around. But, I could tell that solely by seeing it "starred" LDP and Kristi Swanson.

When she comes up from the bottom w/ one of the bad guys who was knocked out, the slo-motion shot of sweet Lou jumping into the water was priceless. Just watching his face made me laugh histerically. This is the type of movie that puts a finishing nail into the coffin of a B-grade actor.

This movie sucked because that hot babe in the beginning became shark food. I was really hoping she would make it to the plank before the shark arrived.

I am one of the most avid shark fanatics (real sharks and shark movies) you can find; however I did enjoy this movie and though I can see where y'all are coming from, it wasn't horrible.
True they could have used a few more shark shots, but I am very pleased with the character development. The only real shark related issue I had was, no bull shark would leap out of the water to snatch a person off of the bridge. (She kinda deserved it though. He he he.)

I've always been a big fan of shark films too. actually I like most of the nature vs men horror flickst of the last 30 years as long as you get to see the "monster". I think we all agree that despite the fact that the fake shark in Jaws didn't work most of the time it still worked thanks to the solid made suspense scenes and it's still the best there is out there is. But if anyone says this one is one of the worst shark movies he hasn't seen my all time bottom candidate "Cruel Jaws" from 1995. Not only is the surrounding story a complete rippoff of Jaws, it borrowed a lot of footage from Jaws and sequels and a few other shark films but those aren't even very good scenes. The animated shark they used isn't shown except two or 3 brief scenes that still are very revealing. Plus, the acting is legendary bad. There are two shark films though that made me stare at the screen with my own jaw dropping to the floor. The first one is the german TV movie "Haialarm auf Mallorca" having ever german "star" that I would rather see dead than on screen plus many many CGI scenes that are very very cheap. A lot cheaper than in Red Water. It shares an odd resemblance with Shark Attack 3 - Megalodon. the second of the films making me stare at the screen in disbelief. A stock shot of a small shark sticking his head out of the water used four (4!!!) times with swimmers or people on an inflatable boat animated into it's mouth looking just hillariously bad. And that is just one silly scene of many. Unlike Cruel Jaws, both are very entertaining as soon as the shark is involved in the action.

This one blows "Deep Blue Sea" (worst shark movie in history) clear out of the water.

You might want to add 'Raging sharks' to that list, that'll definitely leave you staring at the screen in disbelief!
