How many stereotypes...

...can one movie have? Let's see. There's the social-climber wife... the no-good, cheating husband... the promiscuous, gold-digging, scheming mistress... and the shady, thugged-out pimp ex-husband. Combine that with cliched dialogue--"miss thang", "giiirl", "dawg"---and you have the movie Motives. The only redeeming quality about this movie is that it shows some African-Americans as being successful.

I try so hard to support our movies, but this one makes it difficult--especially when I know we can do so much better.

I'm poor, black, I might even be ugly, but dear God, I'm here.
