Ending question

How much was the wife in on the setup of Emory? At first I thought not at all, but then the look she gave him in the hallway outside the prison visitors' room, after she embraced the best friend, made me think that she was in on it all along.

reply

I don't believe she was in on the setup. She made a comment when she was talking to him at prison, "you confirmed it when they found your prints on the knife." If you remember, previously, she had an argument with him and told him that he needed to stop...blah, blah, blah....I think for the most part she was frustrated with his ways and wouldn't have put it past him to kill someone! I did think it was funky to get with his friend!

reply

Yeah, the look was kind of curious. But I don't think she was in on it. I hear they're about to shoot the sequel. So maybe we'll find out:)

reply

A sequel? Ooooh, that's going to be something. But no, she wasn't in on the setup.
>>>>>>SPOILER<<<<<<<<
If you remember, when Emory and uh, Brandon were talking after Emory thought Constance killed the girl, he was mad because he felt like Emory stole her from him (Brandon) and wanted to get her back. He set it all up to screw Emory over and get his wife.

I got a jar of diiiirt, I got a jar of diiiirt, and guess what's inside it?

2 is out now hope you have seen it. These two movies makes you use reasoning and maybe's. No I dont think Connie was in on setting her husband up, mainly because she cant really think of wrong past her husband. Brandon is one smart cookie and went to many lengths to use people and their weaknesses. Oh but he WILL get his. I hate seeing Brandon in the capacities of these two movies, then go and watch the movie, "restraining order" where all the sympathy lies straight to him.

If you watch the "making of motives 2" special features section, Vivica talks about doing different characters and all then she mentions something about playing a character that sets up someone.

That stuck me as odd because I got the impression from the first movie that Connie was not in on setting Emery up.

reply

No, that was all Brandon. She loved Emory but she couldn't be with a man who she was sure was a killer. Brandon set Emory up from the very beginning. Emory trusted him and got played.

**SPOILER DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN PART 2**

In Motives 2 she is in on the setup to help bring Brandon down. Remember Emory's brother tells her the truth about Brandon and shows her evidence, and they teamed up with Brandon's secretary (Whom we was sleeping with) to bring him down. So that's probably why she was talking about playing a character who sets somebody up. She had no clue what Brandon was up to. I think maybe they ended the first one with her looking at Emory that way to mess with our heads, but the second one clears it all up.
