Sho, Ye Chi and Kei

Both men loved her didn't they? Or is that just me? And she did love Sho but not as much as Kei?
Plus Kei was more like a father to Sho wasn't he?

Yes, I think so. The moment Kei saw her painting he fell in love with her and Sho fell in love with her when she was cleaning his wound.

I think Ye-Chi really loved Kei but after he went away Sho wore her down until she said yes to marrying him. Sho knew all along that Ye-Chi loved Kei but he loved her so much that it didn't matter to him. I think Kei never made a move because he's a vampire, she's a human and it wouldn't have worked out.

I think Kei was more a big brother to Sho than a father.

I agree with pretty much every point made here.

It's obvious Sho knew Yi-Che truly loved Kei -- he even says so -- but he loved her just as much. If he didn't, he wouldn't have brought Kei to see her in the hospital or have asked Kei to make her a vampire so she wouldn't die.

I also believe Kei loved Yi-Che but didn't approach her for a variety of reasons -- one being that he was a vampire and loathed this part of himself more than anything. I think it is possible that he did not make any romantic advancements towards her because he knew Sho was in love with her as well.

I beg to differ, I do think Kei loved her, as he loved sho, but not in a romantic sense. He is a vampire, forever living, and is above human emotions such as Romantic Love. In my opinion he never had any sort of romatic interest in her, but a completely plutonic love is obvious. She was really in love with Kei, but married Sho because he wore her down. I agree with everthing else except that Kei was interested in Yi-Chen

I honestly believe that Kei WAS interested in Yi-Chen. He's always looking at her, goes out of his way to talk to her. Even risks being burned up (it was raining, but the clouds could have broken apart) to see her on her presentation day of her painting. I don't think he would have done that for everyone.

However, I do believe that Kei loved Sho more than Yi-Chen...NOT in the romantic sense, however. As a brother or father, even. The prospect of Sho dying was harder for him to accept because Sho was the only one who initially accepted him for what he was. When Yi-Chen found out, she was obviously horrified. Sho, however, approached him and wasn't afraid. That is where the connection came from and he would definitely do more for Sho than he would for any of the others. He didn't even know that Son had no longer become one of their friends but he shot him out of rage because he had killed Sho...and Son was his friend, as well.

While I believe that Sho really loved Yi-Che, I don't think that Kei loved her. I always got the feeling that Kei loved Sho, and that was partially what made the movie so bittersweet for me; a true love triange, where Sho loved Yi-Che, Yi-Che loved Kei, and Kei loved Sho.

Exactly my thoughts. Kei was just kind to her because that's who he is--he's not the warmest person you will meet, but he's obviously been a great brother figure and true friend to Sho, so I believe there's an innate sense of kindess in him that attracted Yi-Che. He never seemed to care for her much other than as a friend --he wanted to make sure she smiled, yeah, but it didn't really go beyond that. As with Sho it was quite obvious--with all the longing looks he gave her and how his guard drops around her and such.

I didn't really see Kei as having romantic feelings for anyone though. Kei loved Sho as a big brother and he loved the rest of the group as friends.
