shareEric Bana? Well, it could work. If they did a good makeup job to make him look a little older, more rough around the edges like Snake. If not, I'd choose someone else that is a closer fit for Snake's age. Nobody in particular comes to my mind at the moment. Bana is definitely a good candidate. I never thought he'd be able to pull off Bruce Banner, but he did a decent job in The Hulk.
If they do decide to make an MGS movie (are the rumors true?) they will need to do it right. The material is certainly there, they just need a top notch cast and well adapted screenplay. If they were to base it off one of the games, the original MGS would definitely be the better choice. The story of Sons of Liberty was far too confusing and ridiculous towards the end. If they were to try to pull off an all-new story, there is potential for disaster, because nobody could ever write an MGS story as well as Hideo and his crew. I'm definitely intrigued to learn more about this possible project. Anyone else have more info?
If they make a MGS movie, they should make it animated, or CGI like the Final Fantasy movie. That way all the voice actors could reprise their respective roles, and we'd have Hayter as the omniscient voice of Solid Snake.
