To this day...

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is still my favorite of the MGS games with the original Metal Gear Solid (PS version) following closely behind it!

Too bad that this game started the glorification/fanbase of an unabashed megalomaniacal warmonger.

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .

Wasn't that the point though?

The Big Boss is pro soldier not pro war, that being said yeah he is a severely flawed individual but to tell the truth he is a much better character then solid snake or raiden

reply

Big Boss is better than Solid Snake? Bullshiht!

I bet you have never played Metal Gear 2 from start to finish. Perpetual warfare is a bad thing.

I think they mean more interesting/deeper character than Solid or Raiden, not morale.

Yes, to me, MGS3 has the most captivated story and characters in the entire series. Fantastic gameplay too, though the pause menus can get very tedious. Peace Walker did that much better.

I was actually very disappointed with MGS4, didn't like the direction at all and it just seemed like VERY cheap fan service. Great gameplay, but very limited. The least gameplay in the entire series. I wouldn't mind that as much if it was backed by a great story, but it isn't. The story in MGS4 is crap, sorry.

I disagee about the MGS4 story being cheap. It's one of my favorite stories along with Uncharted and Mass Effect.

Now, because I disagree with how good a game is with someone online, I feel obligated to belittle your opinion, tell you that you're not a true MGS fan, and say something about your mother. But I won't. Because any fan of MGS is a friend of mine!

It's one of my favourite games. Definitely memorable.

MGS1 for me, but MGS3 is not far behind. All time fave game.

I still remember the first time I played MSG1....ah 1998 memories. Then I played RE:2. I miss hearing my discs skip and my playstation overheating.

I lost interest in MGS after 3, I thought it was a weak instalment. First one will always be the definitive gaming experience IMHO.

I like how each game unravels more of the lore and gives all the characters from MGS more depth. Like this guy McDonald Miller you're like who's this guy. Turns out he's one of my favorite characters in the series.
