Wild things 3???

What really has struck me.. I thought the TWISTS for both of the sequels were DECENT.. but the first hour of the film, both sequels, pretty much follow the first one out.. down to the last second almost.. there's no real shock.. oh wait, in the first one.. its a white cop, in the second one he's black, and the third.. it's a CHICK! WOW..

There's a formula.. rich spoiled girl, trailer trash, neglectful relative.. lawsuit in a mechanism to extort something money, on in the latest a pair of diamonds.

What really burns me.. is that the TWISTS in the second and third films, are actually.. pretty decent.. Yeah, I said.. it.. decent. but, you pretty much watch the first hour or so of a movie you've already seen that was done better.

So.. why not hire the MAIN actors of the original film to overdub a few lines.. and shoot a few new scenes every year or so.. and just release new verions.. save us some time..

The problems with the new movies.. are lack of a decent script.. they pretty much mangle the first half of the original script, then come up with some wild twist at the end.. And like I said, I've enjoyed the twists.. even when I kind of thought I knew where Wild Things 3 was going..which I almost all of the way did.. there was still just a lil something.. that was a surprise.

But.. what mangles it aside from poor production values.. bad scripting and poor boy directing is the lack of real talent in the films.. I mean.. look at the cast of Wild Things.. Denise Richards, Neve Campbell, Matt Dillon, Kevin Bacon, Theresa Russell.. and, I know I'm missing a few.. with the second film starring Isaiah Washington.. and this last entry's big star.. Dina Meyer?

Not knocking either actor.. they could do well enough on their own but surrounding them from people who look like they walked off of Bob's Steakhouse play, or The Real World just doesn't cut it.

Hopefully.. Sony/Tri-Star/Columbia will stop doing this direct to video sequel stuff.. not like any of their particular franchises so far have been particularly good, although I will admit Wild Things to me fared much better than Starship Troopers 2, that to me was horribly unwatchable..

*sigh* And.. Cruel Intentions.. 6? How many relatives of friends.. of brothers and siters can these people have?

Plus.. since all of the Wild Things films, at least for sure I noted 1 and 3 take place in Blue Bay.. haven't they learned about these large case, psycho-double crossing, lesbianic triplecrosses by now? How many times does this have to happen before someone goes.. "oh.. snap, I remember this!"

Just watched five minutes.. The ending.. I could tell it was just as cheap as the second.. I know that if they made a prequal with Ray Duquette they could make it go big.
