Petty. Bitter. Cruel.

Probably the most appropriate three words to describe some of the so-called reviews of this flawed, but benign little movie. I've seen this sitting in Bbuster for quite some time, and never picked it up because it looked like a no-budget, no-name schlock film. But then I did. It was evident almost immediately that this movie was a labor of love. Clearly, it was filmed on no budget. The director had do work with inexperienced actors, no fabricated sets, and, I'm guessing, post production consisting of bootlegged software on someone's laptop.

It was a fun movie. I don't compare it to Rosemary's Baby, or The Others. It's a first film made without studio backing. The guy put himself out there, and clearly is willing to take his punches, and get back in the ring (I saw a sequel next to this--yeah, I'll rent it).

And he made a movie--two of 'em--and you didn't, you nasty a**biters.

Right, so why am I *paying* the same price (or paying at all!!) for this as I would a big budget movie with a well-written script and good acting? I think that that is the issue that a lot of negative posters have with this movie. At least, that is how *I* feel.

If this movie was done by a friend of mine, I would say, "Hey, great job. Keep it up!" and encourage them. BUT, my review (like many others) came from the fact that this movie was on the shelf of a bigname movie rental company (Blockbuster) and with THAT it mind, it was crap.

If I was in an art-school or a movie-school and we were grading each others work, then I would have given this movie more credit, just as you are doing. But I am not. I am a customer that is *paying* for entertainment; not *paying* for the privilege of "critiqing" the work by some college art student.

but it was YOUR decision to rent it. blockbuster stocked it, that doesnt mean you have to rent it. don't take it out on everyone else that you made a bad decision to rent it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and just suppose that you (animalmother) have something to do with the production of this film. How can you argue that a film cannot be criticized because of its low budget and zero studio backing? People are entitled to their own opinions. It just so happens that most people do not like this film. So what?

I was like an egg rolling through time until I was 21. Then the egg cracked and I popped out.

I personally find all the problems lay in the script.
I didn't find that it was well written.
I also found that it looked like I grew up like, five minutes away from where this movie was shot, so I spent most of the movie going, "oh, this was totally made back home!"
