Boring

I wanted to love this but I was bored, because having arguments in a car and spending 10 minutes of the telephone trying to find out what happened to the wife is not powerful cinema. What a major disappointment.

hmm, i thought the telephone scene was one of the strongest scenes. I like the simpleness and familiarity of the act of telephoning but the briefness of each inquiry of his, kept adding layers to make the viewer question what the hell happened to the wife, because until then I assumed she was fine at that point, and all the drama was only happening to the husband, meanwhile a whole parallel of violence had been occurring that we, and the husband had not been aware of. I thought it was a good way of setting up the suspense of her condition for the reveal of what really happened, and who did it, because I think until that point the audience was supposed to have pretty much forgotten about her.
I wasn't too sure about the use of Debussy in the soundtrack, it annoyed me slightly, but I by no means found the movie boring. It's not your average thriller style movie i guess, maybe your expectations were misplaced. It came on late at night on tv and I didn't know anything about it, hence no expectations, which may have improved my viewing experience. Each to his/her own I guess.
