Am I the only one who noticed this?

There's a book I read back in elementary school and it was called The Million Dollar Shot and it was about a kid named Eddie. :P

Is that a coincidence or is this movie supposed to be loosely based on this book?
(Note: This book and this movie are completely different from each other; aside from the million dollar prize and the kid named Eddie)
Here's the Amazon page for the book if anyone's interested...

Nothing new for me if they "stole" a little bit from others. Look at all the Animated Movies... Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Tarzan... do I have to say more? Like Micro$oft they always stole Storys from others and sold it like it was all their *beep* I like Disney but sometimes... for example: They buyed the Rights for the best Anime ever from Japan and locked it up so that there were no competition. Well, finally they realeasaed it, but...

Clearly you lack the knowledge of knowing the difference between 'Adaption' and 'Plagiarizing'.

All of those movies you listed were ADAPTED from existing stories (Lion King was inspired by Hamlet). They may of deviated from those stories (again, Hamlet) but they retained it overall. Plagiarizing would be if someone made a movie that copied an existing story and alters it abit to make it original without admitting the similarities (take, for instance, a certain movie that is basically the Dances with Wolves/Pocahontas... but with aliens) THAT IS UNORIGINAL...

We've come to the conclusion that The Bird is greater than or equal to The Word.

Not to mention the fact that all those stories that they listed are public domain.
