DVD available in Australia...

DVD of this TV movie (and its follow-up) are available, but apparently in Australia only. If you can play PAL-Region 4 discs, though, this is great find! I just ordered the pair of them from Family Box Office (fbo.com.au) this morning.

Hi, Cornish:
My post was referring to DVDs of the TWO SKY-TV MOVIES, not the ITV-1 series. The two TV movies preceeded the series and the main character is somewhat different (including his name, Martin Bamford, not Ellingham, for a start), but they're both still brilliant. Look at them as an "alternative reality" or "parallel dimension."

Best to try second hand shops, video rental stores or eBay to find it now.

You could try contacting the distributors in Australia too, Magna Pacific.

I managed to get the 2nd movie (Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie)on Sunday, and received it in the mail TODAY!!!...

Get it from Discovery DVD. Go here http://discoverydvd.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=322

I tried to order Doc Martin v1 (as the call it) but it went out of stock in the time it took me to email them a question on Sunday and Monday night. Couldnt believe it. :o(

I've been sitting here for the last 2 hours visiting every DVD site I can find, including Magna Pacific the Distributors, and it is not available anywhere.

I would kill for a copy, as my mum and I both love this show. We thought we were going mad when the series came on TV, and he was Doc Martin, but a different one *scratches head* very very strange.

i am in the same boat - i would love to get a copy of the first feature length film. i wonder if it is worth getting some more support to get this re-issued. can we try getting magna pacific to re-issue it? i would pay good money for this - its the only one i dont have.
