CGI?

Don't want to piss off anyone but, there were a few scenes that looked as if they were CGI, anyone else think this? Don't get me wrong, this was a great doc and was very well done, some amazingly beautiful scenes that I have no doubt were authentic, but my girlfriend and I both thought that the scene where they were showing the deep trench (sorry I cannot be more specific) looked like CGI.

Just curious if anyone else thought this, or could provide more details about this scene.

I think the film is excellent as well, but also noticed that. Mayby that's how it looks down that far? I don't know, but to me it seemed like CGI.

I wonder if it was the cameras that they used due to the fact that they were so deep? Regardless, I can't wait to get Planet Earth on DVD...

I'm watching for the first time and I had the same feeling watching some of the shots. Excellent movie either way but how on Earth did they manage to light those deep water shots (without startling the creatures)? Apparently there are no special effects. Amazing work.

They move, Mr. Hughes! Clouds move! That's what they do! They move!.

I'm pretty sure it was CGI.

I heard they used a sonar or some magnetic thing and the recreated the appearance down there on a computer. Sounds plausible.
