I did like this movie but..

I wish characters were examined more. Like the deal with Tata, what she woke up one day and decided she was Puerto Rican? Was Lola in a foster family? I mean her parents were white weren't they? Anyway the director did do an excellent job of making her audience hate German.

I was confused about those two issues, myself. I thought maybe Tata deciding she was Puerto Rican had something to do with the Clemente baseball. Like maybe her father had the ball so she thought he must be a Clemente fan. In any case, she moved to Humboldt Park. I believe there's a high school named after Clemente. I think he was from there, so that would explain why she dropped into that neighborhood.

On Lola, I was also a bit confused. Maybe her parents were lighter-skinned Puerto Ricans born in the U.S. and maybe disconnected from their heritage. I don't think she ever spoke Spanish in the whole film.

Lola did speak Spanish in a couple of scenes, one was when her and her friend were buying weed from Willy ( I think that was his name) They were in his car hanging out

Boston and Philly love to slander us, but they don't have as many fans as us
