Twins - One black, one white? Opinions please.

I have just finished watching the film. Quite good, above average. Deserved no more than 6/10 though in my opinion.
Plot holes aside, one thing struck me as being quite odd. The birth of the twins. What message was the writer trying to convey to the audience, by having two children of differing colour?

Opinion - who gives a *beep*

This film was a pile of irradiated cloned tiger poo.

No point in trying to explain any of it away. Save yourself!

Oh the humanity...

Given the lack of responses, I am inclined to agree. My brain is now officially in the off position.

I think that was planned by the High Priestess. It was part of the manipulation of the Neolites, virgin-birth twins of "opposite colors" to reel in people of diverse ethnicities into their growing "faith"...all part of their power grab.

reply

because the film makers knew if both were white someone would have come on IMDB and started bitching about racism.

reply

But... it would be ridiculous to complain about a virgin white chick birthing twins who were also white. No one rational would have commented on it.

Probably to signify the continuation of both races. That was my inital observation.

it's a product of gang bang.

Finally, someone who speaks English...

It's a simple message. Michael Jackson has a song about it...

At the end when Aurora was in the hospital bed she said to Toorop, "You are their father now" and then she died. Toorop became a surrogate parent to her children.

I was a bit puzzled as well, but I think is just means we are all God's children, no Mather race or religion.

Only a human child can give her this new name. A human child? Where can I find one?

Just watched it on tv and wonder about that too...

It was supposed to exaggerate the miraculous nature, the virgin not only gave birth, but bore children of both races.

I saw it as saying this was an immaculate conception and all people, regardless of the petty differences we use to divide ourselves, are all children of the Higher Power.

SciFi-for those who understand the space outside the box is less crowded.
