Odd title

I think as a general idea, "The Assassination of Richard Nixon" fits, but the main focus of Sam seemed to be his American dream. Yeah, his final plan was his way of showing his dream, ultimately, but I think the majority of the movie is about a more broad topic.
I can't offer anything better, but when the title flashed on the screen after he flies the toy plane, it just seemed...odd.

Yeah, it's one of those movies in which they didn't pick a good title. Kinda like for example, Seven Pounds. I mean, the titles do have something to do with the movie, but the movie is way too deep and deserves a better title.

I think the title is pretty much perfect. Nixon is the subject of Sam's deranged hatred, and the plot to kill him represents his last ditch effort to make something, and his eventual total failure. The title is not implying that the film is about the plot. It clearly isn't about the plot at all. The title sums up his insanity.

It is the perfect title but won't seem so to someone who doesn't understand the concept of irony....
