Why I love this movie...

Did you ever watch those family drama's on the news where a man shoots his wife and kids and then commits suicide and go "What on earth posessed this man to do that?", "What was he thinking?"
The way Sam shoots his dog, the only being that still loved him. It's heartbreaking and hardly conceivable.
Insanity raises so many questions because we fear the most what we can't understand. How do you deal with such madness and how can it be prevented?
One would think human "emotions" are the culprit.
Which brings "Equilibrium" to mind.
In my opinion TAORN accurately portrays a mentally collapsing character and the way he perceives his environement. For this reason above all.. this movie is amazing! One of Sean Penn's best performances!
I think the point of this movie is to show one must be mentally strong enough to cope with the harsh and cruel society we live in today.
The weak won't survive.

Yes, one must be strong. However, human beings remain humane. No one is an island.

I believe in Love -- family and friends ought to support and care their loved one(s) sufficiently. In my opinion, this movie accurately shows how easy for the protagonist/antagonist to descend into depressive and suicidal madness when he keeps facing rejections from everyone he knows. Life shouldn't be treated like that.

I just think it's sad there's so much hate against a great movie like this.
