Oscar possibility for Michael Wincott in the future?

The scene where he confronts his brother about the tire theft defines tour-de-force. Watch the pain and hesitation in Julius Bicke's lines:

"That's it, no more. And if you steal from me again, brother or no brother, I will send you to jail."

You could really tell he's been through a lot getting his sibling out of bad situations. Stealing the tire inventory was the "last straw" with trust and loyalty.

Although Wincott's character had little screen time, the apartment scene revealed a lot about how the two brothers clicked... just by the acting.

Overall, a very good film, both as a character study and little-known historical incident.

I must admit that I thought it was an awesome scene. Michael totally stole the scene - only time that Sean Penn was out performed in the film (but still superb).

I also loved Michael in Talk Radio as Kent for which I think he reprised his role from the Eric Bogosian original play version.

I think he is one of the most underrated actors in the business, so I hope so.

Michael Wincott was indeed outstanding in his one scene in this film; his confrontation with Sean Penn was one of the single most powerful and heartbreaking scenes in the whole movie.

That was an amazing scene. I've been a Wincott fan since I used to watch The Crow in high school, so I was waiting for him to pop up when I saw his name in the credits. See him in Basquiat if you can, an all around amazingly acted film.

I, too, was impressed by Michael Wincott's performance in this scene. I was so impressed, I looked him up and did not realize he was the same guy who played in The Crow. He must've been totally in character in this film, bc I did not even recognize him.

That scene was very moving; that's why I would have liked to see more of the relationship between the two brothers...

He's a great actor but I doubt it.

I totally agree that he was awesome in that scene. I've always dug Wincott.
He had a small part in last night's premiere of "Westworld" on HBO. Really good stuff. I heard his voice before I saw him and called it instantly.
