Do you think he got out of jail? (Spoilers)

The girl finally reciprocates at the end. Do you think that will lead him to reveal the truth about Jimmy? I felt the ending was very depressing because he's in prison, yet he doesn't care. Prison life is no joke. And he would do that because he didn't want to admit the artwork was not his but that of a serial killer?

I guess I was hoping he would come to his senses at the end and they would do a re-trial or something. It didn't even make sense to me in the first place since the evidence against him was circumstantial. They didn't have DNA evidence. This movie came out in 2006, they would know more by that time. What do Y'all think?

There is no way they'd convict Jerome of the murders, as that case would fall apart at the slightest investigation. Any competent forensic investigator can link the paintings with the victim's id card attached to Jimmy not Jerome, but Jerome will likely still do time for misprision, obstruction of justice, and withholding evidence. That could earn him a few years which might be just what he wants to establish himself as an artist who suffered for his work.

That's the beauty of the ending. You have to make your own mind up. I would like to think that he caves in and gets out of the slammer to be with Audrey. If he stays in prison, he gets to be a famous artist, which is what he really wanted before Audrey came into the picture.
