Strange remake/adaptation of 'Tesis'???

just saw the preview of this movie on a dvd for another movie i was watching. i
immediately thought of "tesis", though the settings are very different and
probably many other elements of the stories as well. but i don't know, couldn't
shake the feeling that "tesis" might have been an influence. of course would have
to watch acs to really judge, and haven't done the appropriate online research to
find out. i will watch and research, but thought i'd throw the question
out there too

There's very little similarity between Tesis (1996) and Art School Confidential. perhaps the murder story is somewhat similar, but that was not the main point of Art School - it was more about that strange institution called art.
