canned laughter in pilot?

I thought the first episode was pretty funny, but did anybody else notice that beside the fact that there were no commercial interruptions... that the laugh track seemed to be pre-recorded? I was under the impression that most shows tried to get a studio audience for their pilots (and for that matter, for the rest of their shows). Regardless, I kept getting distracted when a small joke would be made and the "audience" was EXPLODING with laughter. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the second episode as I wasn't home and ended up taping Fox's "The Simple Life", which was a rather funny show. :)

laugh tracks are really annoying, i once watched some kind of show on how friends is made (i think it was the show) and they said that even though the shows are filmed with real audiences, they still edit the laughing like making it louder and softer, and i guess thats what makes it sound fake. but they should just do away with them, my dad will bring it to my attention during a show, then thats all you notice through out the whole show.

How much I hate canned laughter... The genre says "Comedy," and yet, as a viewer, I am portrayed as being too stupid as to know when it is the proper time to laugh at something that probably isn't that comical in the first place.

I agree while I love the hell outta this show in my opinion a life track just diminishes the whole experience instead of you laughing when humor strikes they try to tell when to laugh with a laugh track I think it could be one of the reasons most people ultimately end up disliking sitcom shows even ones that are as funny as this one I miss the old shows where you could tell the audience was live because there was always that one person with the loudest and funniest laugh which for some reason to me made the show funnier.

yeah... unfortunately, i watched this show with high hopes, but i was very distracted by the laugh track and some of the plots... and, i haven't watched it since. i've been a tracy morgan fan since the day he showed up as the fat Carribean Essence Bath Oil man on SNL ("Come... bathe with me!) it's not on a very good night, especially now with American Idol in full force taking up Tuesday nights. Does anybody know how the show is doing in the ratings?

All sitcoms except Malcolm in the Middle and shows like that use laugh tracks even though they are taped in front of a live audience.
