One of worst mecha so far... Avoid!

I have seen NGE ages ago. And I loved it. When I read this is similar I thought there are chances that it would be good. And no, it turnet out to be a pile of crap.


I wont even go to detail and comparisons to NGE. Rahxephon follows almost the same storyline with no effort or whatsoever to create something different.
Everything here seems to be ripped off Eva, including character design, character development and plot. Ayato = Shinji, Quon = Rei, Kunigi - Shinhi's father, and many, many more. Each character has its equivalent in NGE. Even some Mu look exactly like Angels. One huge difference though: Rahxephon lacks meaning and depth.

Often it seems as if the makers did not have idea what to stuff in episodes to make them long enough. "Hey, for now we only have 10 minutes done, so lets include some irrelevant scene that will make it look more mysterious, hahaha, what a brilliant idea". Thus at least 30-40% scenes in each episode are irrelevant and pointless. The whole show is chaotic, like if 20 different people worked on the script without consulting each other, to create patchwork of different scenes.

I think NGE, at least look innovative and in a way probable (and offered some technical explanations). Here you get a bunch of weird characters popping out of nowhere, visions, the same scheme in each episode (a fight, almost lost, and then Ayato hearing a song and saving the day a second before its too late). Psychology? Why bother, better forget it.

Waste of time and money. If you like mecha and/or good anime, avoid!
