Jennifer Esposito as Agent Quinn

I'm sorry, but the actress - and her character - is just one strange chick...

the way she acts almost makes Abby look normal... I said ALMOST!!! 

that whole "team conversation" about her "dream" was just ridiculous - and weird! 
and then Palmer saying they've all had it...
Really!?!? WTF!!!

The more I think about it, the more I believe that sub-plot with the dream could have been quite a good one, but it definitely lost everything in the execution.

I was amused when Gibbs knocked on the wood and asked her what type it was, but her running out on the job because of it and Gibbs looking merely bemused - instead of firing her - was stupid; not to mention the 'how did she get to where McGee was'? Did she walk?

I also liked the idea that Palmer had also had a dream about Gibbs that began the same way as Quinn's - and leave it to our imaginations whether it was the same one or a completely different one.

The way Wickersham acts, it might have worked better with her character - and a lot less mooning over the dream - overall it came over as stupid, creepy and unprofessional from Quinn.

I'm still watching and enjoying, but it's no longer the show I once loved.

I wondered the very same thing, blue!

I guess that palatial house was right across the street from that dumpy apartment complex...

jeez! who wrote this p.o.s. nonsensical episode? 
the more I think about it, the dumber it gets...

I too wondered how Quinn got from the fancy mansion to the "other side of the tracks." It did look like she walked, but obviously not. Either she or Gibbs had to have called a cab. And Gibbs would find that a big waste of money, even if it wasn't him doing it.

Excuse me, but did you say Abby normal?

Season opener, I thought Quinn was okay and Torres was a mistake.
As the episodes have progressed, I am finding Torres more acceptable and Quinn more irritating.

reply

We feel exactly the same. For the past few episodes we have been wondering why Quinn is still even there, since she seems to always slow the case/show down whenever she is on-screen.

reply

I thought I was the only one who felt that way about Quinn and Torres. I didn't like either of them for the first couple of episodes and I still felt the same way during last night's episode but Torres started to grow on me and then what he did at the end flipped a switch for me.

Quinn, on the other hand, had me cringing the entire episode. Why would she tell anyone, let alone all of her co-workers, about that weird apparently sex-related dream she had? I'd take that information to my grave!

I've seen this actress in something else before "NCIS" and I didn't mind her so it has to just be the character and the way she's either chosen to portray it or has been directed to. Whatever the case, I'm over her at this point and I hope the writers can do something with her character that will cause me to flip the switch for her like I did with Torres because I just can't bring myself to detach from this show... at least not yet.

(And by the by, I also say "dot dot dot" in conversation, such as "It if ain't broke, dot dot dot". I guess I'm Uncle Larry too!!)

reply

I concur.

reply

Yes, she is unprofessional.
Didn't she TEACH/TRAIN these Agents?
You would never know it...

Also Senior has a SHOE BROKER? Come on...Really?
He does not purchase footwear from a store like most people?
He has a Shoe Broker... Never knew there was such a thing as a Shoe Broke before...

reply

I wonder if Tony foots the bill for THAT too.

reply

[deleted]

Shoe Broker... Never heard of such a thing. Apparently he buys his shoes by the truckload?

Seeing as how cheap and stupid Grampa Dinozzo is, I doubt he buys more than one pair of shoes every five years.

reply

whereas I don't usually mind one of my threads being taken OT, I'm rather distressed* that some of y'all are polluting the discussion about the uber-strange Alex Quinn by bringing up DiNozzo SR., and his "Shoe Broker"...

only the writers of this drek would create a "shoe broker" for an aging Lothario, who lives off of other people's $$$ (including his own son), dresses like a zillionnaire, but, in fact, doesn't have a pot to pi$$ in or a window to throw it out of!

"shoe broker"?!?! duh, duh, dumb!! 

now about Quinn being on drugs:
don't know what it is, but something is seriously wrong with that chick!
maybe the stuff she uses on her teeth causes brain damage, or....
maybe it's just "head-up-their-arse writeritis"...

* - just kidding! I really don't mind...

I was going to ask the very same thing, is she on drugs? she looked like she was falling asleep in the interrogation room,
I laughed when Gibbs walked out and said she's driving me nuts and she's talking about dots,

BTW, that dot dot dot came from the movie "Mama Mia" when the daughter was reading the mother's diary, she was reading "they sat under the tree, they kissed and dot dot dot", something like that.

Yes, Nas that was me that went Off Script.
Mainly because I was a bit surprised you did not mention it first. LOL

So when I see stupid stuff like Senior's character I have to say something.
Not only did he have a Shoe Broker he also was a bit creepy with Gibbs in reference to Quinn.

@ OldDood

I hope you read the part where I wrote I really didn't mind the going OT about SR...
how could you help but write about his "stupid stuff"?

some people think I'm unduly critical of poor RJW, so I kinda' avoided the subject this time, but I'm glad you brought it up...

and yes, SR's creepy remark about Quinn did not get past me either, but then he's always been creepy when it comes to women, hasn't he?

btw, I just read last night that RJ Wagner has published yet another book entitled, "I Thought My Life Was Over" about - guess who? (plus other women he has known throughout his life)
didn't his other 3 books say it all before? 

I guess his paychecks from NCIS and his reverse mortgage commercials aren't enough, so he had to write another book... 

He keeps writing books about it, and avoids what really happened. He was getting hammered with Walken, and perhaps they were even swinging, and Natalie Wood got into an argument about something and ended up dead in the water.

If it had been two black guys on that boat, they would both be doing Life in Prison.

reply

Funny thing is, I thought Torres was supposed to be the socially maladjusted one. But alongside Quinn, he looks completely stable.

But I definitely agree, she is weird af.

reply

as Rick James used to say: "Cocaine is a hell of a drug."

reply

They need to move the Quinn character back to where she came from in the NCIS universe! Ellie & Allie are fine with the guys, Quinn with this whole "I've got a love fantasy about Gibbs" did not work at all! When NCIS brought on Kate, Ziva, or Cassidy into the fold there no need for sexual innuendo. Quinn is ill-fitting character plus I did notice Dwayne Henry is been added to the opening credits this week! Perhsps we could phrase out Quinn
character slowly in some storyline where she realizes & feels the needs to go back training future agents instead of being a part of team Gibbs!

Duane has been in the opening credits for a few weeks now...

agree, the character is pointless, and the actress is doing nothing with the poorly written character.
