I'm bored

Part way through series fifteen - which it has to be said is a remarkably long run - and I can't be bothered to watch them go through the motions anymore. I'm annoyed that Ducky and Abby have been reduced to token appearances. I'm more annoyed they've parachuted in some actresses I particularly like - and given them nothing to do. But most of all I'm bored and the show has become a effort to watch.

Everyone they brought in after Weatherly left has been a bore. The team doesn't have the same spark anymore and of course Ducky and Abby end up leaving too. And then Gibbs. But they will keep cranking this out anyway.

reply

Ducky left?! I knew Gibbs did, I don't understand the reason they would continue the show without any of the returning cast. It was just one sad departure after another. First Ziva, then Tony, Abby. I love Bishop and McGee but they can't save the show. I guess it's something to fill in the time slot that networks really need.

reply

The actor who plays McGee is related to the producer or ex producer, something like that. I am sure Mark Harmon is still making money out of this too. The original team was the best, even Ziva was good then it went down hill when DiNozzo left. Although I read he might make a come back appearance.

reply

I'm really excited about the new Ziva/Tony spin-off show. I actually have a good feeling about it

reply

I didn’t know about that I’ll have to look it up. I think Weatherly was wasted in Bull. He has great subtle comic ability as DiNozzo.

reply

I haven't watched Bull since the first episode. I think he was pretty much just himself

reply

Maybe. The whole show was flat and the characters, especially Bull were boring. A bad reason to leave NCIS. Tony would be in charge now!

reply

It's going to be tough to ever bring Ducky back as the actor who portrayed him, David McCallum, died aged 90 on September 25, 2023.

reply

"NCIS" started its death spiral when Michael Weatherly left. Nobody they replaced him with could fill his shoes. The same happened on "Law & Order" when Jerry Orbach quit.

reply

And they chose some really bland actors/characters to fill DiNozzo’s shoes. The Hispanic woman who liked cardigans was one of the worst.
