Las Vegas marathon on cable TVs E! channel (Friday 26 June 2020 to Monday 29 June 2020)

They are running every episode ever made.

Nikki Cox hasn't worked since 2011 so the residuals must be welcome.

I can't watch this series anymore. My family loved it when it was on, but the 2008 Writer's Strike killed it after Season 3.

I thought it went downhill in 2007 when they replaced James Caan with Tom Selleck. Nothing against Selleck, but Caan was perfect in the role. They also dumped Nikki Cox (before she had the silly surgery on her lips) and Cheryl Ladd.

Apparently, Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation" cannot be heard as the opening theme song now because the "clearance" the show got from the Presley estate/ASCAP/BMI to use it doesn't extend into syndication and video sales.

reply

I swore they used it when showing it on TNT. Perhaps I'm wrong, but sounds like E! Is just being cheap and doesn't want to licence the music.

reply

They did play the Elvis song on TNT. Apparently E! was showing reruns in the afternoon recently. It sounds like they could not get the rights. There are plenty of episodes with former pop singers, and their songs are not cut.

reply

Never watched this before. But I've been watching a few episodes of the marathon. It's pretty good.

The Real Casino Surveillance thread below (archived from the old IMDB Message Boards) has excellent insight about what's real and unrealistic about the TV show.
