Why No Series Finale!!!!!

You Have A Show That Ran For More Than 100 Episodes, And Then Left All The Fans Hanging In The End, And We Didnt Even Get A Series Finale! That Is Stupid! I Hate When Networks Do That! If They Want To Cancel It... So Be It, Just Give The Fans 1 More Episode To See How It All Ends!

reply

I agree, I just started watching this show on TNT and I saw the finale episode expecting to see what happens and it wnet back the beginning. I can;t believe they didn;t do something to end the show properly.

You can thank NBC's stupidity and the writers' strike for being left hanging. The NFL would not allow NBC to run promos during "Las Vegas" for the NFL nor during games for "Las Vegas", so there was a similar audience for both that was being wasted. NBC gave in and thought they could do better with something else--time has proven them wrong. "LV" gave them better numbers on Friday nights than they had any right to expect and nothing since has matched up.

The show was cancelled during the writers' strike and that final episode was the last script completed before the strike was called, so there was no chance to wrap things up.

Because NBC is stupid as hell lol.

You'd think they'd do a made-for-tv movie or even a big screen version to wrap things up! But I supposed it would cost too much to try to recreate/rebuild the casino. I gotta say NBC is at the bottom of my list of most watched networks now, right above CBS.

reply

omg... i know i have all the seasons and i just go nuts!!! i wish i could see it!!

It was a really stupid move on nbc's part because it just has more and more followers, it airs on tnt now, i wonder if we could petition them enough to rehost the show?? i know a few high & mighty connections that may be able to get the actors to sign but i don't know the lagality.... so ?

reply

Now that would be really great if someone started a petition. There's still a chance :P

reply

I'd be happy to help in any way to back a petition to bring Las Vegas in for a conclusion show for all the fans who miss it so much! PLease let me know!

reply

[deleted]

The problem is that they shouldn't have left it hanging for so many years, if they had at least made a "conclusion" show the next season, most of the cast might have been available enough to film it. They should have at least respected the fans enough to do that! I'm guessing NBC has regretted not cashing in on this series when they should have, they keep trying to catch the other channels in ratings, but honestly, they've lost most of the people I know with their shoddy lineup!

reply

Holy hell! yeah I would sign a petition to bring "Las Vegas" back... that was my favorite show and I still loooove watching the reruns on TNT.... but nothing pisses me off more is when they get to that last episode and it says "to be continued..." then they go on to show the pilot episode! GRRRRR! I always pictured Sam and Cooper getting together! :)

I'm in, I just got hooked watching on TNT its only on 3 days a week and i get SUPER pissed when basketball runs ver and it gets bumped!

reply

I, like many others, was upset at the way the show ended. I did find this website that has many Twitter posts where the creator of the show answered many burning questions about what would have happened to the "Las Vegas" characters.

Thanks so much that's so cool, I'll check it out!

There used to be a thread about that Twitter posting from Gary but it has now fallen off the board. Too bad because it was good.

reply

they did get better residuals deals from online and digital content etc...

reply

Jack Keller lol, I loved that episode. I wish Jack wasn't a bad guy and had come back.

Thanks to TNT I started watching this series and couldn't get enough so I started renting the discs. I thought the last disc messed up and cut off final episode. I had to check menu and go episode to episode to double check to make sure it was the last one on disc. Even fastforwarded through last episode again to end to make sure as well. Then went to my computer to look up if there were any other episodes or discs that I missed. I don't watch my local networks other than for the news which I sometimes just go to my computer for that too. After reading up on everything I now know why I don't watch local stations on programming any more. To leave it hanging. I agree w/ everyone else we need a wrap up one last series finale hour and half to two hours long. Gary's notes help answer questions which grateful for but really would have liked to see it.

reply

Even TNT sucks... I watched the last few episodes aired for LV and they left me hanging more so than most people, as the show left off at part ONE of three weddings and a funeral and we never got a chance to see the second half. So.... they should just revive the show, instead of pulling old shows and redoing them. Danny always made me laugh.

This is just crazy. I knew there was no season finale (thanks to this board) but I had no idea it was left that OPEN. Not good! Maybe I'll get with Gary and write the script that brings it all together!!!

reply

I'd really like to see a 90min movie to conclude it all, se we would have closure.

reply

It'd be nice to get a e-book or script sold or released online for fans by the shows creators just for closure.

No need to actually film, just reading it would suffice.

reply

There is no reason NBC shouldn't have a 2 hour or a multi part finale to this series. It would draw a TON of attention. Picking up after several years , can you imagine how they could promote this!!!!!They could add such wild twists, or things we assumed would happen. Most actors haven't had so much success that they wouldn't come back for this! If someone had enough time or knew of someone to pursue this with at NBC, it would be great. This is better than 90% of the crap currently on for sure!

reply

it is a serious shame to "finish" or rather end such an entertaining series.
Also, in the 5th series, with the disappearance of Ed, Jillian, (and Nessa little earlier) there were fewer main characters left to focus on. And unfortunately it put Delinda up front in the appearances. She was always annoying, but during her pregnancy, I couldn't stand her character anymore and there were a few episodes that seriously pissed me off because of what she was doing and how the story had been written around her.
So as much as I would have loved to see more of the "old" Las Vegas episodes, I'm glad the series is over.. no more incredible stupidity and lameness from Delinda's character.

reply

I would love to sign a petition to bring back 'Las Vegas' as either a tv-movie or a theatrical film. I've been a fan of the show since i've been watching the reruns on TNT. It sucks the way it ended!!

reply

[deleted]

Really wishing like everyone else, that there was a conclusion to the show. Having Gary just randomly tell us everything that had happened, doesn't help. WE WANT TO SEE IT ON SCREEN, NOT IN WRITING! Someone start a petition soon!!!!!

reply

[deleted]

You know what is even more irritating than that? When people capitalize the first letter of each word they type, instead of the first letter of each sentence and of proper nouns.

reply

[deleted]

The 5th series occurred during the writer's strike. Everything in Hollywood shut down and NBC had already cancelled the show so they couldn't produce the final 2 episodes.

reply

That has already been established earlier in this thread.
By now everybody should know the writers strike of 2007 screwed up every TV show.

reply

Not every show. People need to face it that this show wasn't good enough to make it another season. In my opinion it should have been cancelled after the 3rd season which was awful, but I'm guessing the reason they kept renewing it was so they can have 100 episodes needed to put it in syndication and make money off of that.
There are plenty of shows that are still on that came on during the writer's strike and some are still even going strong. People who are blaming the writer's strike are obviously just looking to point fingers if the strike was to blame then wouldn't other shows like Grey's Anatomy, which was only in it's second season at the time and Gossip Girl which was in it's first, be cancelled as well?

You're killing me and I'm already dead!!!

reply

[deleted]

Yeah but apparently not enough viewers to keep it on the air huh?
And it didn't hurt my feelings that it wasn't cancelled but the show was awful and should have been gone. People point the finger at the writer's strike for this show's demise but the show's future was in question even before that. ANd this show was doing so bad in syndication that TNT actually moved the reruns up to an hour where no one is awake, expect that to be gone next season as well. Since moving reruns of a show to an ungodly hour is the next best thing to finally not being shown anymore at all.

Grey's Anatomy should have been killed at birth.

It looks like there may be a wrap up for this how after all! Just saw something about it online!

There was supposed to be a three episode finale, which was then written as a two hour made for TV movie, but the NBC would not pony up the money for it, screw the fans.

There was a post on this board which had the details of the final episode, but it looks like IMDB has removed it it it's regular clean out of it's boards. Real shame they do this, there is so much great info lost when they delete the old posts.
