Season 4 seemed to be the best, especially Episode 5 and 6 but I personally thought Season 5 was the best. Finally, the show lost that wet blanket Mary - wow was she becoming insufferable. Wretched actress, annoying voice, probably partially brain damaged - Mary (Nikki Cox) was terrible.

Sam and Delinda getting closer, introduction of great characters like A.J. and Piper, and better, funnier writing. Too bad the show didn't get keep the audience it started with. Tom Selleck's A.J. was great, Piper and Mike were adorable, and so were Danny and Delinda.

I love Tom Selleck too but when James Caan left the show it lost some of it's magic.

But the main reason the show never got it's footing back when Tom joined the show was because of the writers strike that year. That strike killed off a lot of good shows...
