Jason Priestley

his block shaped head and atrocious acting killed this show

Like he does in everything he's in
The guy just poisons every scene I've seen him in.

reply

He's the new "Show killer"

He's taking over for Ted Mcginley (Jefferson on Married with children)

He's got big shoes to fill

Absolute rubbish.
He is brilliant in Tru Calling...
I loved his character (hes easy on the eye too)

reply

I LOVED him in Tru Calling! He was amazing. I haven't seen a lot of his movie roles or even much of 90210 for that matter, but I think he's better at playing roles like Jack than anything else. They just seem more suited for him. He also did a guest stint on Medium, which I greatly enjoyed. Ever since seeing him in TC, I always thought roles like that would be the best for him. And Jack had so many layers of complexity that Jason was able to portray perfectly.

What was Jason's character like on Medium?

reply

He was a crazy sociopath who liked to decapitate the heads of women, especially his own wife. He was known as the Recapitator because he would cut someone's head off and then put the head of the woman on another woman's body.

JP is a great actor, and gorgeous too.

Obviously you can't appreciate his performance because you have not studied the craft of acting. If you watch his 90210 stuff along with some of his other roles you will see that Mr Priestley is a fine actor. As they developed the character to be more conflicted he hit all the right notes. Just look at the scene when Harrison is carjacked and compare that to the final scene in The Last Good Day. Actually if you do alittle research I think you will find that the addition of thr character of Jack actually improved ratings because it brought a much needed protagnist-antagonist dynamic to the show.

reply

I don't know about ratings but I agree, there are SO MANY other actors that would have pulled off "death" better than this joke.

From the first time he walked in, they had no element of suprise, you could tell that he was what he was, it was just a joke.

He was as Jack Harper simply perfect ...amazing ... adding him to show was the best they could do

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

I actually think if they had brought Jason Priestley in earlier - this show may have survived. The reason I think this is because his character gives the viewers an ongoing thread that attaches every episode meaning you need to watch the next episode. Before that a lot of the episodes were very stand alone, although I loved them, I understood what my friends meant when they said they did not miss anything if they missed a couple of weeks. I think Jason Priestley was great in this series and given more screen time and come along earlier, he may have saved the show!

Good point. When I heard they were adding Jason to the cast I started watching before his episodes aired. I loved his storyline and what he added to the show. I have to wonder, though, if his anti-Tru motives would've gotten old after a while. Of course I wish we knew how that would've all turned out.
