To put Eliza Dushku in a post Buffy show in which she has super powers and a stupid Government is inviting that they accuses the producers of ripping off Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The fact that Tru was not committing any crimes would slow for years but not later than the Fourth Season was lthis going to happen: the Government would have known enough to ask Tru some embarrassing questions. If she does not answer or lies then she make enemies she did not want.
With all the good she's done she would have people who know she can help people may not exactly why but that she can and would help her when they could and we don't know if after everything with the reporter whether she uses her real name and takes off or of case solved just takes off. And if they get called to the house she might have a chance to get home before they get there.
Plus the cops don't look into anything to hard if there's no reason to be looking at that specific case. So chances are she would get away for she's without much trouble at all in my eyes as long as she was somewhat careful
