I still can't believe the way they ended it!!

Ah, SO MANY cliffhangers! Jensen turning into a serial killer (that we don't even get to see; we only see him being creepier), Jack working with Tru's dad and especially Harrison finding out but not getting to tell Tru!, the mole, Tru's dad having killed Tru's mom, Avery noticing about Tru (smaller one I know, but still), Jack and Richard's dialogue about Jensen "wasn't he supposed to be one of yours?" "give it time", Tru not knowing Davis told Carrie, I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting! Oh and the long-term fascinating one I think, that eventually Harrison was supposed to be trained as Tru's opposite, brother vs sister. Ugh, still bothers me when I watch the second season on dvd. I wish there was as much of a cult following as there was with Veronica Mars, so they could make a movie to finish it off! :-(

I agree with everything, except for the Tru vs Harrison storyline that the writers planned. They had such a close and believable brother-sister relationship on the show that it would have ruined it by making them go up against each other.

Rewatching this episode for Christmas Day and still as amazing as when I last saw it a few years ago. Still laugh at every joke, get tense at the suspenseful moments and look forward to every scene even though I know what's coming next. Love the hints about Jensen becoming evil when he shows up out of nowhere at the lab and shocks Tru twice; Jensen lighting his own candle at the church then blowing it out; Jack and Tru's banter which was at full force in this episode; Jack feeling lonely at Christmas and Tru inviting him to her party; Harrison catching his father in the act and the day rewinding just when he was about to tell Tru; Avery's growing suspicion of Tru; Davis revealing the truth to Carrie; everyone being in the same room at the party; and Tru and Jack saying they will never stop doing their jobs of saving or taking lives.

I have to say, it bothers me that people say Jack "takes lives". He does not kill people. He simply makes sure they stay dead. Like he said, he's not in the car when someone behind the wheel crashes into another person. etc etc etc. I mean, it just logically can't even be true either. If he and Tru were opposites and he was taking lives, she would have to be actually giving them, like birthing them or something. The opposite of dying is being born, not living. He helps them die like she helps them live.

Also, a plotline with Jensen that didn't get used was him turning into a serial killer ... so that candle he lit and blew out might not have been for him ....

True. I just think it sounds more dramatic to use 'saving lives' and 'taking lives' than 'helping them live' and 'helping them die'. The writers probably thought the same.😅

I'm real when it's useful.

Totally off topic, but use your mouse to highlight what you wrote! It changes the smiley face! Haha. :-O

Yeah, the writers probably wanted to be more dramatic. Understandable. Still, it might have stayed on the air longer if the writing wasn't so in-your-face and at times cheesy, if it was more complex and subtle.
