If this were a TRUE makeover show...


the candidates/contestants would have self-esteem counseling on top of the cosmetic surgery. If they have birth defects, I have no problem with them getting cosmetic surgery, since it will help them feel "normal" in society.

But with them living their entire lives with abnormalities, they should have counseling/therapy on top of that rather than just getting a new body and new face and feeling "complete" on that solely.

Yeah you're right, Felix.....changing physical features makes everything better. To go from an "ugly ducking" with no self esteem to a "beauty" is only a nose job and a suction tube away.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the participants did talk to a therapist during the show, but the sessions weren't recorded because they were meant to be confidential.

The participants I believe received counseling to make sure they were mentally stable and prepared for such extreme surgeries. The OP is correct, they should have received therapy that tackled their life issues as well as counseling for up to a year after the surgery.
