what the hell, BBC?!

So...question: are there no restrictions whatsoever on what can be shown on the BBC? Because I'm in the middle of watching this (not the American cut) and it's like 10x more graphic than THE TUDORS - which was an extended cable show! Isn't the BBC like government television? How are they able to show explicit sexual content like that on regular television?

You object to the shagging but not the ritual murders?

reply

Yeah, basically.
And by the way - "shagging" is the most ridiculous word I've ever heard. It sounds more like taking a dump on the carpet than what it's supposed to mean.
Why Europeans love to watch people having sex is so perverted. If they like sex so much, they can go have it, instead of demanding it be splashed constantly on TV. And they can quit being cry-babies about the fact that history is, well, violent at times.

Now that we've had the cliche-filled comments, can we get back to my original question?

reply

If you hate watching sex so much, turn off the TV. Quit being a cry-baby about the fact that history is, well, sexy at times.

Also, I may have seen the American cut, but the version I saw certainly wasn't more graphic than the Tudors.

reply

Also, I must have missed the ritual murders.

reply

Even the one where that bloke's head was chopped off?

reply

Well, I remember the execution of Charles I, if that's what you mean. When I think "ritual murders" I think of a bunch of Druid Priests chanting around a virgin over a lambs-blood stained rock.

reply

Relax man

reply

I agree with you
