in its fourth series so somebody must like it.

I have just watched another episode of this and still don't like it much.
I like police shows and I like Caroline Quentin but I have never warmed to this programme.

The stories are weak and I just don't believe Quentin as a senior police officer.
Tonight's episode "CRISIS MANAGEMENT" concerned the cliche of a murder on an army base.
For goodness sake how many times have we had this sotory before? ,we saw it in TAGGART,DALIZIEL AND PASCOE,MORSE,MIDSOMER MURDER.

Somebody must like this programme because it is in its 4th series and so must get good viewing figures.

Why do people who like this like this?,is it popular with women or what?
I would really like to know.

I've only seen a couple of episodes. I like quite a few ITV detective series, like wire in the blood, midsomer murders, touching evil. I don't like the older ones like Taggart, Daliziel and can't stand Morse.
I've thought the Blue Murder episodes I saw were alright, bit cheesy and naff, but they're alright lol.

I live in the U.S. and have been getting many U.K. shows from my library like Inspector Morse, Lynley, Midsomer Murders and some older ones also. I've seen about six episodes of this so far and like it much. I'd like to see more. What I like about this show is the "ordinaryness" of the characters and the kind of work they do. I like seeing normal looking people with everyday kinds of problems. That may not seem like much to someone in the U.K. but here it is kind of rare for a tv show. Many U.S. shows are full of perfect homes and perfect-looking people and most everyone is wealthy. It's very relaxing to watch normalcy.
