We only got to see that when Trump turned each episode into a bloated 90 minutes or two hours. Watching people watch TV was one reason that the ratings fell and the show was cancelled.

Fair enough. NBC cut its ties in 2015 with Trump after he made a bunch of derogatory remarks about Mexicans. They declined to pick up the series if Trump was still host. And, they did.
That's the equivalent of being canceled.

You are wrong, your timeline is off. They did not decline to pick up the series. He walked away from the series to run for president. This was before his remarks on Mexican illegal immigrants.
